About the operator
A product designer who builds: systems that scale, details you can feel.
Four years at Amazon, across Book Depository, Prime Video and Amazon Haul: accessible checkouts, campaigns for six European markets, and the templates and tools that keep them consistent. The work changes; the method doesn’t. A rigorous system underneath, and one moment of real craft on top.
Outside work, I build my own tools: Butter, my Figma plugin, and an Android workout app. The rest of the time belongs to Deku, my very active Oriental Shorthair. We’re either playing fetch, out on walks in the summer, or he’s hibernating through the winter. I’ve also supported Arsenal for longer than I can remember, which says a lot about my resilience.

- I start with what’s already live: audit it, measure it, and ask the people who use it.
- B · Prototype · The display
- Wireframes early and often, and every version kept. The Book Depository About us page took twelve.
- C · Build · The housing
- When the tools run out, I build: HTML and CSS, Figma variables, a plugin.
- D · Motion · The status light
- Motion should show cause and effect, and there’s always a still version.
Operating principles
User first. Work backwards from the person using it: see the problem from their side, then design for what they actually need.
Systems first. Tokens, components and documentation that let a team ship the same quality in the sixth market as the first.
Tactile by default. Motion, sound and material that give software cause and effect, so an interface feels handled, not just viewed.
Accessible, always. Contrast, keyboard paths and reduced-motion alternatives designed in from the start. This desk has a still version for exactly that reason.
